Aquarama Trade Fair, a trade show and conference on water technology and treatment, is an unmissable annual event for anyone active in the industry and the water sector.

Programme
This year, the content-focused conference consists of six sessions. VITO Kennispunt Water contributes to these two:
VLARIO session
10:15 - 12:20
VITO Knowledge Point Water also shares expertise during the VLARIO session on sustainable water management in buildings. Veerle Depuydt discusses the organisation of collective facilities for rainwater. In addition to the technology, clear agreements on financing, responsibilities, and management determine whether such a system works in practice. She explains which organisational, legal, and contractual points are important when different parties are jointly responsible for the collection, treatment, and storage of water. After the session, participants are invited for a sandwich and drink at the VLARIO stand (149), close to the VITO stand.
NEW WATER session
14:00 - 15:00
During the workshop of the Interreg project NEW WATER, you will discover how alternative water sources can contribute to a climate-resilient drinking water supply. The focus is on two Flemish pilots: at Tiense Sugar Refinery, wastewater from sugar beet processing is being investigated as a potential source for drinking water production, while VERKO explores the potential of digestate. The project partners explain their approach and discuss what NEW WATER can mean for your organisation or expertise.
After the session, participants can ask their questions at the VITO stand (165).

More than 150 exhibitors
The stands at the fair were once again sold out at a rapid pace, as Aquarama is the place to be for many water professionals. Further internationalisation continues after 20 editions, with 20% of exhibitors coming from abroad. This proves once again the importance of our country when it comes to water technology. Access to the trade fair is free after registration.
Right next to the VITO stand, you can find the Fluid Crew (164) where you can discover the plans to bring Flemish water expertise to both national and international forums. Fluid Crew is the umbrella name under which the Flemish water sector unites. The message? Our small region tackles complex water challenges in an ingenious manner. Thanks to our fluid and integrated approach, we always come to a suitable solution: ‘Water always finds a way. So do we.’ The initiative is open to anyone who wants to support the notion that one drop may not move mountains, but thousands can.
