Water Reuse Europe moves its secretariat to Belgium
Water Reuse Europe relocates its secretariat to VITO Kennispunt Water in Flanders. With this move, the European association aims to more firmly anchor itself in the European ecosystem around water reuse and support cross-border cooperation in the long term. For VITO Kennispunt Water this role aligns with the broader ambition to accelerate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation around sustainable water management.
Closer to the European Water Reuse Ecosystem
Water reuse is gaining increasing attention in industry, agriculture, and water management. However, international cooperation requires more than just technical knowledge. Networking, communication, and member engagement also determine how quickly practical experiences, project opportunities, and insights find their way to the right partners.
Therefore, Water Reuse Europe is moving its secretariat from the United Kingdom to Belgium. The association remains a separate entity with legal independence.
VITO Kennispunt Water as the New Host Organisation
The secretariat will henceforth be hosted by VITO Water Knowledge Centre, a role that aligns with its existing operations: connecting expertise on water management and water innovation with businesses, researchers, governments, and international partners. For Water Reuse Europe, this means a stronger connection to the European ecosystem and more opportunities to further develop collaborations.
New Team for Leadership, Communication, and Member Engagement
Charlotte Boeckaert takes on the role of Secretary. She has been active for over 10 years within the Water Reuse Europe community and works in her daily practice on water reuse in industry and agriculture.
She is supported by Maaike Vandekerckhove, who will coordinate communication, and Stéphanie De Man, who is responsible for membership and association management.
Emails to secretariat@water-reuse-europe.org will now be answered by Charlotte or her colleagues.
Thanks to Cranfield University and Kristell le Corre Pidou
The new WRE team is currently working on a smooth transition from Cranfield University. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the programme for the coming work year is being prepared.
This new beginning also involves a farewell. Water Reuse Europe thanks Kristell le Corre Pidou for her 10 years of dedication as Secretary. Many members came to know her as an efficient and committed leader.
